EXECUTIVE CHANGES

MILWAUKEE — Roundy's Supermarkets here said it has named Don Fitzgerald group vice president of merchandising and procurement, effective March 10. He spent 28 years at Dominick's, now owned by Safeway but formerly run by Robert Mariano, the current chief executive officer at Roundy's. Fitzgerald most recently was vice president of sales and merchandising for Meijer Inc. He also spent two years as a partner at The Partnering Group consulting firm. He succeeds Robin Michel, who recently was named executive vice president and general manager at Ahold's Giant of Landover, Md., banner.

SAN ANTONIO — Wane McGarity, former wide receiver for the University of Texas Longhorns, the Dallas Cowboys and the New Orleans Saints, has joined H.E. Butt Grocery Co. as program manager for health and wellness, the company reported. In the newly created position, McGarity will be based at the company's headquarters here and will be responsible for providing strategic and tactical execution of health and wellness initiatives for H-E-B customers. Of particular focus for McGarity will be community-based outreach efforts centering on childhood obesity in Texas and programs aimed at improving nutrition and increasing physical activity for children and their families. McGarity will also work internally at H-E-B to align and integrate the company's health and wellness efforts in advertising and marketing, public affairs and store operations. Prior to joining H-E-B, McGarity served as a fitness specialist for Xtreme Speed, San Antonio.
